Mirrabooka Apartments 
Innovative design techniques and materials, passive design principles and technology that delivers all on site stormwater to the water table allowed the  Mirrabooka complex to set a new standard for townhouse design.
 
The overriding concept for the projects was respect - respect for the  local environment, the culture and the history. These values and the challenges presented by the site, required motivated, innovative thinking to come up with creative yet respectful design solutions - Operable windows to create breezeways, shading to reduce unwanted solar gain yet at the same time allow in the winter sun, large windows for natural light. The spatial plan utilises the natural slope of the site to create intimate rear courtyards and private north facing balconies with expansive coastal views. An open-stair shaft visually connects all three levels while at the same time providing natural light and ventilation.
